About The Beet

The Columbia Beet is an online music zine and weekly radio program that seeks to cast a spotlight on the diverse and thriving music scene in Columbia and its surrounding boroughs. The Beet began as a music column in the local weekly Columbia City Paper, but has since moved its primary base of operations to the University of South Carolina student run WUSC radio station. In addition to this move to the airwaves, The Beet has also expanded its internet presence to include social networking sites (i.e. MySpace, FaceBook) and our current homepage here at Blogger. In the end, our hope is to simply spread the word and support Columbia's vibrant music scene and try to get others to do the same.
